About The Trip

If you have been to Kerala but not been to Kochi or Alleppey, you are missing out on the gems of the state. Kochi and Alleppey, better known as Alappuzha, are Kerala's coastal jewels, blending lush geography, rich histories, diverse peoples, and seafood-infused cuisines.

Nestled at the Arabian Sea's edge, Kochi is home to islands like Fort Kochi, with mangroves and a 30-mile coastline shaped by rivers of the Western Ghats. Alleppey thrives on vast backwaters, emerald canals, lagoons, paddy fields, and coconut groves, earning its "Venice of the East" tag.

When you are in Kochi, you can quite literally see history unfolding - with the town preserving its history perfectly from the times of Vasco da Gama to the Jews settling and later, the colonial seizure of the town. Alleppey, on the other hand, brings a blend of nature and man wherein the backwaters transport you to a world untouched with the modern rat-race.

Detail Itinerary

Details

We leave Bangalore by 8:00 PM, embarking on a thrilling 12-hour road trip south. Blasting your favourite tunes and dancing to the rhythm of music with strangers who will soon turn into friends.

Details

Dawn breaks as you roll into vibrant Kochi, the Queen of the Arabian Sea, a historic port city where Portuguese forts, Chinese fishing nets, and spice-scented alleys collide in a tapestry of cultures.

Freshen up and savor a hearty breakfast of appams and stew, fueling your plunge into Jew Town and Mattancherry. Wander these charming streets lined with antique shops brimming with antiques and spices that echo centuries of Jewish, Dutch, and Indian heritage.

Next, café-hop through Kochi's hip enclaves, finding the authentic tastes of Kerala’s coast.

As the sun dips low, stroll Marine Drive, Kochi's iconic waterfront promenade curving along the harbor like a crescent moon.

We end the night with Kochi's lively dining scene: street-side grills, rooftop bars, and thali feasts alive with flavor. If you are a night owl, extend the magic with a moonlit walk through Fort Kochi's breezy seaside lanes. It is one of the best ways to explore the town.

Details

Rise refreshed in Kochi, breakfasting on fluffy idlis, after which, we start our drive to Marari Beach, a hidden gem of Kerala’s 50-km coastline

Our afternoon is packed with a delightful surprise for you: toddy tasting at a local thattukada, sipping Kerala's much-famed fermented beverage. It's a toast to authentic Kerala life.

Glide into Alleppey (Alappuzha), the "Venice of the East," for a shikara boat ride through its mesmerising backwaters. Drift past daily life unfolding on water: houseboats, coir factories, and laughing children waving from verandas.

As serenity sinks in, it's time to turn homeward, carrying Kerala's magic back to Bangalore.
