The Kumta beach trek is all about hopping across beaches one after the other. The adventure starts with witnessing Kagal fort and enjoying the scenic beauty of Heaven Beach, Small Heaven Beach, Mystery Cave Beach, Mangodlu Beach, Vannali Beach, and waterfalls amidst the forest.
This small, yet gorgeous town, Kumta, is all about its breathtaking water bodies. Heaven Beach, as the name itself suggests, radiates the magic of this beach. Small Heaven beach is one of the most peaceful and undisturbed beaches in Kumta. Similarly, Mangodlu and Vannali beaches are going to fill you up with positive vibes. Details
We start from Bangalore at 7 pm after all the trekkers board the bus from various locations. We will be covering a distance of approximately 500 km to reach Kumta. As the journey begins the trek leads are going to give you an overview of the trek and there will be an ice breaker session to blend well with your fellow trekkers and make you feel at home. The next thing you know, you have reached your destination!

The day starts with pretty views of forests, fog, and breathtaking valleys and winding roads through the bus window. We will reach the campsite at around 8:30. You can just drop your luggage in the tents and run straight to the beach. Have the delicious breakfast served at the campsite, pack your essentials, and start the trek. It’s a small climb through the stone-ridden path to reach the top of the Kagal fort. The climb slowly reveals the beauty of the shoreline.And soon you’ll reach the top of the fort and such views welcome you. It’s truly an amazing scene to see the river meeting the ocean. Kind of revealing the beauty of creation. The Aganashini estuary is what divides the shoreline of Gokarna and Kumta and you can pretty much view the lighthouse in Gokarna from atop the fort.
We continue walking along wth the fort ruins to reach a bastion(View Point) which was originally a water tower, which is, however, now used by enthusiastic travelers to spot dolphins. The trek continues to excite you with breathtaking views of the beaches by the fort and soon after a steep descent and becoming host to a lot of red six-legged creatures, you reach Mystery Cave beach. A rather small beach with waves so loud and furious, it is sure to take away any tiredness of the trek. We then trek over the huge metamorphic rocks, to reach Heaven beach. The beauty of this beach is in a league of its own. No wonder it’s named Heaven Beach.
It has a good lengthy shoreline with calmer tides compared to Mystery cave beach, its the perfect place to jump, play, swim, or sleep in the water. We’ll also have the self-sponsored lunch here. After spending a good amount of time, we’ll then head to the Aganashini Jetty to get back into the bus to reach sunset point i.e Vannalli beach.
After a short trek along the hill by the beach, we finally reach a calm place under the shade of trees. Await the magical moment which makes you feel so close to nature that the myriad shades of oranges will be reflecting in your eyes and radiating from your face. Head back to the campsite for freshening up and dinner. Gather around for a fun session of music, dance, stories & whatnot under the beautiful starlit sky.

We'll wake up to the sounds of the coast, have breakfast, and check out from our campsite. Our second day is dedicated to the natural wonders of Honnavar.
We start with a peaceful canoe ride, gliding through the serene, green tunnels of a lush mangrove forest. This quiet journey leads us to a secluded island, offering a perfect escape. After exploring the island, we'll take a refreshing swim in the calm, clear backwaters.
Once we've worked up an appetite, we'll have lunch. Afterwards, we begin our journey homeward, making a spectacular stop en route to visit the magnificent Jog Falls. We'll take some time to witness the power and beauty of one of India's most famous waterfalls cascading down the cliffs.
As evening approaches, we'll continue our drive back to Bangalore. We will stop for dinner (self-sponsored) along the highway. We'll travel overnight, aiming to reach Bangalore by approximately 6:30 AM on Monday morning, concluding our coastal adventure.

For Departures from Bangalore: In the event that YOU cancel your trek, this is the cancellation policy we follow
- If you cancel before 7 days – 90% of the amount will be refunded
- If you cancel between 3 – 6 days – 50 % of the amount will be refunded
- If you cancel between 0-3 days – No Refund
Note: For All The Above Refund Cases Transaction Fees/Internet Handling Charges will be deducted from the overall amount and the balance amount shall be refunded. You can transfer your ticket to anyone so that you could save your hard-earned money

How to Reach
Please select your preferred pickup point from the drop-down list while booking.
Any change in Pick up locations/ timings would be updated via mail 24 hours before the start of the trip.
Drop-off points shall be the same as the pick-up points.

Additional Information
To make this a smooth and enjoyable process for all involved we ask that you read and follow the guidelines below:
- Prohibited items: For the safety and comfort of all, the use of alcohol, intoxicants, or smoking is not allowed at any point during the journey and trek.
- Meals before departure: If you have opted for the “With Travel” option, we request you to complete your dinner before boarding the bus, as no dinner will be provided en route.
- Travel arrangements: Transport is arranged based on the group size but both options have push-back seats for your comfort. Non-AC tempo traveller for groups of up to 12 trekkers. And a non-AC minibus for groups of 13 and more.
- Independent travel: If you prefer to arrange your own private transportation to the destination, be sure to choose the "Without Travel" option in the booking page. Important: In this case, please ensure you have access to a private car for the entire duration of the trip. Public transport is limited and unreliable given the remote locations. While your scheduled activities start at the homestay, you will need to have your own mode of private transport to move around and participate in the activities on day two.
- Accommodation standards: Our trips are nature-focused and often in remote locations. The accommodations provided are basic, clean and comfortable. We do not promise or organise luxury amenities.
- Meals provided: We offer simple vegetarian meals throughout the trip. Non-vegetarian food will not be provided.
- Environmental responsibility: We follow a strict Leave No Trace policy in accordance with the rules of the Forest Department. While plastic is not allowed, everyone is expected to carry any and all waste back to the base and carefully dispose of it. Together, let’s leave the hills better than we found them.
- Your personal belongings: You are solely responsible for your personal belongings, valuables, and jewellery. Plan The Unplanned is not liable for any lost or damaged items.
- Delays and unforeseen events: While we aim to be on schedule, delays may occur due to traffic or vehicular issues beyond our control. We request your cooperation in case of slight delays in reaching our destination.
